Tell your legislators to oppose Out-of-Network Consumer Protection, Transparency, Cost Containment and Accountability Act (A2039/S485)

Thank you for taking the time to contact your legislator about the negative impact of the Out-of-Network Consumer Protection, Transparency, Cost Containment and Accountability Act (A2039/S485).

This bill does more to harm patients than it does to help consumers.

In its current form, A2039/S485 will give all of the negotiating power to the insurance companies and will therefore make emergency room call unaffordable for surgical specialists in your local hospital.

We support New Jersey Senate Bill 791 because it will protect patients against surprise bills AND preserve access to skilled doctors.

After you fill out your name and address, we will automatically find your legislators (that's why we need your address).

You will also be sending an email to every member of the Assembly Financial Institutions and Insurance Committee and Senate Commerce Committee, both of which are holding hearings and a possible vote on the bill on Monday.

Please edit the email to add your own personal story with lawmakers. Again, we thank you for your time.

The out-of-network gave me the opportunity to have my husband’s cancer surgery please take into consideration all the people who will suffer from these opportunities.

As a registered nurse for over 30 years and a health insurance consumer I am professionally and personally obligated to say this bill, if passed will guarantee lives lost in every emergency room in the state of New Jersey. Our legislative leaders have an obligation to the citizens of New Jersey to redirect their energies and start exposing the real problem. The corruption inside the walls of the insurance companies is unconscionable. All of the insurance companies use unethical, strategic tactics to significantly under reimburse every claim submitted. They steal money from consumers and providers every single day and get away with it. And they have been doing so for years. My statements are supported with detailed, consistent documentation. The only way this will be resolved and assure quality healthcare in New Jersey is to hold those responsible who are strategically and intentionally attempting to dismantle out of network. Wake up New Jersey. Make it your business to know the facts. Before it is too late and lives are lost, possibly yours and/or your loved ones.
